Circa 2006. 3 graduates from Ryerson design program were on the hunt for a stylish affordable new brand. They attended trade shows across the country with no success. Everything looked the same. Same screens, same fabrics and same style details, nothing was new and fresh.

With no luck they decided to go back to their roots and design a new line of clothing themselves. They named it YDE or Young Designer Emporium. They quickly learned that as they got older they could not be considered the “Young Designers” and so began collaborating with young local designers who live and breathe fashion, are highly creative, and waiting for their first big break.

These clothes are inspired by the closets of young designers-clothing they design for themselves and their friends- stylish clothing with a student’s budget in mind.
